This sweet family became a party of 5 in late February. About a month later, they welcomed me into their home where we had their session. With a house where boys are the majority, they all looked forward to having baby girl Ashley Regan around. I was delighted to be with them and see how they handled everything with such ease. Can you believe this couple has been together since they were in high school!? Look at what a beautiful family and genuinely happy life they’ve created together ❤ ❤ ❤ Thank you so much for sharing your family & your home with me.
This winter has definitely been mild, to say the least – yikes, kind of scary! I am a little bit sad for not experiencing the beauty of a snow fall, and have also missed wearing a lot of warm winter sweaters & scarves. Although, I think those of us in Georgia have, for the most part, been enjoying the sunshine & fall like weather…heck, we’ve had more than a handful of spring like weather and warmth! Today, though, is rather dismal and rainy. That being said, I thought it was a good time to follow up with a Winter Warm-up: Part II (this year’s Winter Warm-up: Part I ) – (Last year’s Winter Warm-up: Part I or Part II.)
The two beach pictures above feel very special to me. They capture my oldest who is a dancer at heart and I can ‘feel’ the movement. The latter of the two looks as though she is about to take flight…which, makes me think to the future, as well as reflect on the past & present…
The pieces that make a whole, sometimes are overlooked, and feel relatively insignificant. Truly these little pieces can bring you back to a place in time – in the blink of an eye. Little hands, feet, toes, eyes, lashes, lips, teeth, tippy toes…
Look who ALMOST fell asleep in the water! All that sun, fresh air, beach play…it had the poor girl wiped out (and denying to me she was tired)! 😛
The image below almost became a casualty of a hasty, momentary decision. My daughter’s face was speaking to me, but, it wasn’t exactly something I was ‘looking’ for. In the end, when I saw this particular picture up close for review, I saw very clearly, my mom and perhaps generations before her were there speaking through my daughter’s eyes, lips, nose…
Thank you for getting this far! 😉 That was another huge share! It was a nice long vacation though too! I wish it hadn’t been so long ago already, but, hey, photos give us the ability to relive them as often as we want!
So, I decided to ‘take the plunge.’ I went ahead and launched a website this weekend and followed it up with a facebook page. If you’ve been following my blog, I would absolutely love for you to hop on over and have a peek at the website and most certainly if you have a facebook page, then link up with me there too!
As always, thank you so much for following or stopping in!
btw, everything that was ‘tagged’ in this post can absolutely be found in my website, lots, here on this blog 😛
Happy Valentine’s Day! Cheers to all the little things we love about our special loves 🙂
Last winter I posted a blog called, Winter Warm-up. This year I’m past due for posting a warm-up, although, I must say, I think most of us haven’t exactly been needing it! 😉 I have been longing for a beach visit though, alas, I have revisited our beach vacation from this past July. 🙂 We had such a great time! Waking up to the beach, the sounds of the ocean, the feel of the air, beach walks any time of day, ah *sigh* it was wonderful…we even rescued a baby shark one night, go figure it was on a night where we left camera’s behind
Anyhow, with such a variety of ages present, there was no end to the fun, exploration, wonder & amazement. Like my warm-up last year, I have already dubbed them Part 1 and Part 2 (which, will be soon to follow). Please enjoy my over share!
This one, I fondly think of as, “boy meets ocean.”
All 5 of them all doing different things, but, encompassed in one shot. Makes my heart smile. After revisiting all of these images, I’m heavily wishing I was in them too, but, am so absolutely happy to have these moments captured in time.
Some of my friends have ALL boys, one thing I have a few of, is little girls! One thing my little girls absolutely love to do is — dress up! Another thing that goes hand-in-hand with dressing up — having tea parties! So, one afternoon my dear husband and sweet boy went out together, leaving the girls to be girls. My oldest child is constantly dressing up herself, her siblings and her friends. This particular afternoon was no exception. I walked into the living room only to find all three girls, dressed as fairies, complete with wings and wands…having a tea party. They were so cute, I went to get my camera immediately. After snapping a few pictures, it occurred to me. It is so nice outside. Let them have a tea party in the forest & let them be little fairies out there. I asked, and let me just tell you, they were jumping at the opportunity, literally! Out we went. They played & I stayed far away, stalking as if they were my prey, letting them interact & behave as they would naturally. Next time, I believe I will intervene, because they were so inspiring! 🙂
Keep in mind these pictures were taken in May 2010 🙂 I wish I would’ve taken the time to edit all of them sooner, but, for me, they are a completely fond memory to revisit any time!
Their nose kisses are the sweetest…they make my heart smile and sigh…
Very typical of me, here I am ‘catching up.’ 😉
With the new year here, as many people do, I have been reevaluating things & how “I run them.” As far as my journey with photography goes, I’ve been going through pictures from January through December of 2011. I can’t tell you how many pictures I never even saw, just captured, uploaded & never took or found the time to shine any light on them. To be seeing a whole year of pictures back to back, it’s incredibly clear and feels like a punch in the throat, really…my children are all growing up so fast! I’m quite sure we all feel the same about time going by so quickly and children growing so fast. Somewhere inside it makes me want to cry & hold them tighter.
I thought, what better way to start the new year, than to catch up on sharing my journey with photography. I have had requests sitting & neglected (so sorry for the delay), for copies of certain images, especially of those dandelions – who knew!? However, to those of you who asked, if you’ve haven’t already checked, go give your email a peek. 😉 My offer still stands, if there are any images on my blog that you would like (excluding images with people in them), please contact me and I will happily send you a quality size file free.
I adore all sorts of images of the sky,- stars, clouds, cloudless, sun, no sun, raining, snowing, blue, gray, foggy, hazy, clear and everything in-between. Every once in a while we are fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of something that looks so glorious, so alluring and mystical. I have some of these images semi-permanently fixed in my memory, but, haven’t had the opportunity to capture it before, or since. I was lucky enough to catch these heavenly sky images right down the street from our house in June 2011. I took these pictures, loaded them on my computer & have not revisited them until last week. I knew they were ‘in’ my computer and could conjure this image & ones like it up in my head from time to time, but thought, it was time to share these heavenly-weird-beautiful-sunlight-special thing going on sky images. It’s moments like this that really get me thinking. about the world. where we came from. where we’re going. simple things we take for granted.
Please enjoy these images and check back soon, because I have an inkling I might be posting again more regularly. 🙂
Happy SHINING New Year!!!!
Lots of hours spent in the car recently with all four children gave us a lot to laugh about. One instance in particular comes to mind. I made some off the handle-definitely-joking comment about a particular child’s behavior, and perhaps needing to put her on the roof. 😉 A few seconds later, you could hear the thought process of my son. He said, “Um…that would be dangerous…remember when Daddy put the Christmas tree up there and tied it down…maybe if she holds on really tight…?” Poor guy, here I was, completely being facetious and his mind is putting it through the ringer, with real fear for his sister’s safety.
So, today, as I was recalling that situation, I decided to post this little blurb on him. My little boy is most often, the hardest child of mine for me to capture with my camera. Sometimes he is more than willing and will request his picture to be taken, but, the second my lens is pointed at him this funny, square, ‘cheese’ smile is forced across his face (even if he were laughing in the moment prior). His birthday was back in March & I took him out with the hopes of capturing a little bit of his personality. We really adore this tunnel of trees and always have a good time when I attempt pictures here. 🙂 He started dancing in the street, completely on his own accord, which had me grinning ear to ear to say the least!
Dancing caused his temp to rise & so he took off his sweater for the remainder of the pictures. I thought I’d include this picture because I was trying out a different style of editing…not sure how I feel about it, none-the-less, thought I’d share it.
For those of you who have requested certain images, I am absolutely honored to have my work in your home! Not to mention, thank you for the sharing the stories as to why those particular photos really struck a cord for you! For any of you who are interested, but, shy or hesitant, please ask away! The images are free 🙂 like I said, I’m just thrilled to share my joy, have you following along & even more delighted to have my work displayed in friends & family’s homes!
Thank you so much for following along on my journey!
Today, I thought I would post some of “just my kids” 🙂 I am always trying to catch them doing what they do! Of course, there are all kinds of ages and stages kids go through. These are some of the ones mine are going through right now.
They play together A LOT.
…on the go, in the full swing of things…
Here we are still in April…
These lovely, young girls met shortly before they turned the ripe old age of two. They are best friends, and quite simply, might as well be sisters. Our families are as close as you can be without actually sharing a blood line. Every now and then, we kind of celebrate how & when we came to be.
On this particular day, these two came to me, changed into dresses, with huge smiles on their faces, and requested my company outside complete with camera. Busy patterns and all, I could not resist!
It was a warm spring evening filled with laughter, thumb wrestling, dancing, spinning, hand holding, mystery solving, and just being young.
Tune in soon to see what else I’ll be pulling out of the relatively recent past!
